The recipe for meaningful language (in finnish "Mielekkään kielen resepti ®") is a method developed by speech therapist /speech and language pathologist Marja Liikanen, Helsinki, Finland. The method is used
1) to give the child a model for how to express him/herself;
2) to support the development of language: the understanding of spoken language and the learning of concepts; and
3) to support the emotional development of the child by using language with empathy and encouragement so that the child gets the feeling of being understood by the supporting and sensitive adult.

Receptet för meningsfullt språk (på finska "Mielekkään kielen resepti ®") är en metod utvecklad av talterapeut/logoped Marja Liikanen, Helsingfors, Finland. Metoden används för att
1) ge barnet en modell för hur han/hon kan uttrycka sig;
2) stöda barn att lära sig förstå talat språk och behärska språkliga begrepp;
3) stöda den vuxna att stöda barnets emotionella utveckling med empatiskt och uppmuntrande tal så att barnet får en upplevelse av att bli hört och vara förstått.
